and voices, cathedral-high

the central hall
where I stand tense
in a column of light

riddled with words echoing
down from the dome, pinning myself
down in my place

Everyone moves but
for me there's no space
My initiation?

A sacrificial ritual?
High voltage grunts
through the texts

crying ditch
animals desecrate the hall
put the pool under pressure
