Boek "Desolation Angels", hoofdstuk 1-2-77, geschreven in 1956: Gregory Corso, upon Jack Kerouac's return to San Francisco, wrote a poem about Jack's interest in Buddhism and his weeks of meditation on Desolation Peak, entitled "To Jack Kerouac, Buddha-fish" and beginning with the line "Spit on Bosatsu!" (two golden fish are the symbol of good fortune, because they shall not drown in the sea of suffering; Bosatsu = Boddhisattva)
