Zywa At the end of the lane

She lives at the end
of the golden-yellow lane
which lights up on the other side

My comrade has often
stopped me, did not let me
sink into my longing

did not let my feet shuffle and rustle
through the autumn leaves
to go to her

to the little smile around her lips
in the pearling air, smelling
of incipient decay

thinking of her soft skin
her warmth receiving me
Now I go

I do not want to stay here
anymore, not to be without her
anymore; I straighten my back

and rise from the trench
She lives over there
at the end

Zywa Memories don't drown

Events flow through my head
faucets spontaneously spray
memories over my feet
Frogs jump out of the pool

What seemed so ordinary
is now demonstrating
and keeping me awake
Smashing the window panes

I hide behind the lace curtain
Shadows beat the drum
They live on the street
and declare me guilty

I am no longer safe
from the straight faces
and the doubts of my family
They slink through the house

Zywa Big small step

You can't go on like that
you really have to take action
yes, that's what I've said

and

don't wait till Friday
go to the doctor right tomorrow
I think that's the best

yes

you didn't wait
not even till the next day
thinking that's the best

and then

you hang and hovered
between life and death
a man, no child

The job you went to do

You couldn't go on like that
you really had to take action
yes, that's what you've done
