Zywa Grandeur in hindsight

Well, my old diary
has almost had its day
I read it over once more
for beautiful sentences

too beautiful to be lost
I copy them and weave them
together with imagination
with equally beautiful sentences

My experiences seamlessly
fit together with possible events
that I now, years later, imagine
and would have liked to lived

just as Stendhal reworked his
dull notes into a stammering account
of a heavenly experience, dizzy
from looking up at the vaulted ceiling

where the painting, on the contrary
is anchored immutably in the then
still wet lime, entirely real, firsthand
Grandeur, not only in hindsight

Zywa Without my name

In the Rijksmuseum I explain
the Night Watch. The curator keeps
asking questions. But what do I know?

Jane has no doubt, she says:
Once you see it
you should also dare

to know it. That three year old girl
who is mixing pigments
in Rembrandt's studio

and has painted herself
behind huge peacocks, that
is you, his daughter

and secret student, who was aching
for his love and with his death married
out of necessity and for the sake of art

her comrade Arent
the two of them painting
under his name

Zywa Still

It is a dramatic word: still
Summary of an exciting story
my story and that of everyone living

Still, but in my mind I am already reaching
to the edge of the end, standing
in the gutter of the high roof

to fall and to try what then
But my body refuses the depth
it pushes me back, I can not

glide into the Grand Canyon
on the wings of the eagle
and open my eyes at home

after a world tour, so I still
stand there, a pappus after flowering
and I quiver in nine shades of white

on the edge of the hereafter

at yourself

everyone and everything that is offered
to make money, even ruins
are more with a little fantasy, so
buy a ticket, look, hear and shiver

near the pet crocodiles in living rooms
clearing their throats inside chests

at a boy between the hunebeds
drowning anxiously under white veils

from the delayed boom after the whizz
of the widow's dropping blade

at the eternal whining of the sailors
in the captain's gin bottles

with the jubilant angels over the baby
in the manger, and smell the dung

drink the romance of
imagination in power
with the hard facts as a decoration
for those interested

Merlin
improves the world
Merlin
I too imagine improvements

I intervene with care:
I adapt to the situation
I make corrections
I am versatile
