I experience ancient statues
structures, and drawings
as a mystery:

that they could make this!
And the people of those times
thought the same way

that it was almost divine
But the creators had to
forgo the highest praise

lest they be punished
by a jealous deity
challenging them

and making them suffer
even in love, the faithful love
that most gods do not know

and that they do not give to others
because human happiness in love
would make themselves superfluous
