Zywa Melancholy [2]

Somewhere there, beneath the mists
in the valley, is the boundary
I do not want to cross

I brace myself
I cannot and will not
be indifferent

to what is disappearing
with me: my experiences
of beauty

my knowledge and my awareness
of what is valuable and
what is not important

to concern oneself with
To save something
I keep placing lamps

Look! There is something to see here!
There is something to be gained here!
Look! before the light goes out...

Zywa Scents from back then

I'm standing in the circus
in the middle of the clowns'
round dance, far
from the beach

where we, hidden
behind the sunshade
laughed and kissed
Everyone could hear it

In the tent, I'm dancing
with you in my arms
my empty arms
Outside, it is raining

the magnolia's
pink-white petals
on the dry earth
Scents well up

Patchouli, lavender
and gasoline, memories
of you, of us, come
let's go for a ride

Zywa Nostalgia for the beach

The photo opens my memory
of the freedom of the beach
space where everything is possible

where I chased my fantasies
until I flew away with them
into the sky

but there was always a noose
around my ankle, with a rope
that pulled me down again

and when I took a run
and jumped into the sea, I just
washed ashore after a while

to the family at the tables
under a roof of imitation straw
with the bride in the middle

who used to crouch here and then
looked back and winked at me
while she peed in the sand

Zywa Smelling how it was

Dear old apple tree
tender snow-white dream
precious memory

spring is sweet tonight
being brought to me
in the fading light
the world was young

The earth turns day by day
     life is going fast
     another April, another May

     I walk the ancient track
     and everything comes back
     so it's already over
and that may set us free

Dear old apple tree
snow-white blossom sea
with the swing that sighs
and the butterflies

lying in the grass
smelling how it was
when the blackbird sang
the world was young

Amsterdam, 2018-02-27

Zywa Back

My home
if it still exists
in the wrinkles and grey hair
where I rest

My body
stiff from the years, all
so long ago, you too
my dear unknown

My soul
full of tears, memories
of your sweet lips
never to be forgotten

My song
my breath, still singing
where I stop
coming back

Zywa Erehwon

Bends between mossy boulders
Poor reception in the clouds
on the mountains, they recede and close
behind me, keep my thoughts

trapped on the road
No views, not stopping
for a pee, driving quietly
Standing still is dangerous, perhaps

I'm going to cross a pass to the sun
Still a thought
out of the fog of my feelings
I miss the sun

Bits of Nostalgia on the radio
with a lot of noisy
Would it help to cry

once that is safe?

Zywa Diamonds

Our relationship faded to some

words loaded with feelings
around a heartful of rust
Beautiful memories

The colour of your eyes

That first time, lost
in each other, together
we found the way

Everything you are good at

that you have to let go anyway
Gifts without pretension
given hand in hand

for the hotel, in falling leaves

Breathing clouds without text
Snowflakes adorn our hair
It might last forever
