Zywa Warm feet

Peace, in a bed
in Amsterdam, kneeling
or with clenched fists

eternally awaited, preserved
in hearts and thoughts
about people who behave
differently than you wish
people who have to take care

of their well-being and can
only dream their visions
cannot realise these even
with combined efforts
The world is too big for that

Close by you can smell the wind
and go along with the seasons
Close by you can, within
the limits of your needs
safely open up to another

What I meant to say

carefully, in my letter --

I have omitted.

heb ik verzwegen.hab ich verschwiegen.

Zywa The Child of Peace (Wintertime)

In the transition time
it is peace for a while
To combat each other
the old powers are too weak

and the new ones still too small -
infants in the nude
who endear and
temporarily disarm everyone

in the pitiful awareness
that this nudity will lose
its innocence to the desires

that proliferate in the growth
of body and mind and
that can disrupt lives
as if a war is going on

It will cost a lifetime
of missed opportunities
to become old and wise
and allow peace

Silent night, pale-black

black the sky, high the full moon --

peace over the earth.

absent -- as the saying goes:

peace starts with yourself.

Zywa Our big hearts

Maybe because of my big heart
that is nevertheless afraid
of everything that could go wrong

and often does not offer room
for what I need, does not make space
for what I wish for

Or to bridge the distance
from my high legs and long neck
to you, and not to look down on you

with armed love
to soothe an unmet need
half-heartedly

Maybe I just imagine
what you do and say to me
maybe we want the same

maybe, under the skin, you too
are a giraffe, maybe we can
just be giraffes

Zywa A chest full of knives

Trust is a chest full of knives
that you hand out to achieve something
Dangerous to life, but indispensable

I know it never goes well
in the fight against abuse
and all other (self-interest)

Yet I am not afraid
to divide
and rule

that old lesson
how to subdue the knives
so that they settle themselves

to peace benefits over blood-
shed, that is really a matter
of perseverance until I succeed

in uniting the people

Zywa Now, and then

Then I will
no longer gasp for breath
risk to open the window
and cry out

yes then I will
take off my clothes
every night without worries
and sleep relaxed

then I will
no longer see fire-barrels
and banners in the museums
only kill switches and red buttons

then I will
receive uninvited guests
and everything I wish for
because long ago

now
I have made a start
not to listen anymore
to harsh words

now
I carefully absorb the exudate
wash the blood-stained cloths
and convert my lookout posts

now
I pick up the broken eggs
clean up free of charge
now I have made a start

Just admit the things

you need and discharge the rest:

it's the Way of Peace.

Wat je nodig hebtLasse zu, was du

Weg van de Vrede.der Weg des Friedens.
