Zywa The Palace under the Peak

I work in the white palace
Input, output, no ripple
in my body, my mind
remains calm, whatever I do

In between I experience the silence
in the red palace rooms
that I can always enter
wherever I am

There I open my skull
into a cup and I experience
myself, let love flow
to what occupies me

There I also look at the lives
of my loved ones, of strangers
and of the people I meet
I embrace them with many arms

of tenderness

Avalokiteshvara ("God who looks with compassion upon people") is, as the name suggests, the Bodhisattva of compassion. In India he is depicted as male, in East Asia she is depicted as female (in China she is called Guanyin, in Japan Kannon).
Avalokiteshvara is invoked with the mantra "Om manipadme hum" = "oh, you who possess a jewel and sit on the lotus flower" (om = the keynote of all that exists, mani = the spiritual jewel of the enlightened mind, padma = lotus, hum = enlightenment)
Cintamani: the jewel that fulfils your (spiritual) wishes, because those arise from your most important needs; the jewel is pearl-shaped, in Tibetan images it is kept in a radiant vessel
White palace: potrang karpo, the administration building of Lhasa from 1646-1647

Zywa Big Heart [2]

Alone. Between lonely hearts
Understanding misunderstood others
With attention, my password
and the master key in my genes

Kicking, I already paid attention
Not yet capable of anything else
as a baby, and as an adult
no one should have to unlearn it

and no one should have to claim it
when they feel hurt
by hurt people, are wronged
by the world

of sham adults
Come, I'm coming, just swallow
your reproaches
for a kiss

Zywa The Sacrificial Child (End of winter)

It's the old story:
Everything Becomes New
Everything Becomes Young,
so cruel
is the beauty of life

which sacrifices adults
to their fault
their most grievous fault
of ageing

They still can stay, wise
and competent or not
if they give up their place
earlier than they are ready

Maybe they will then understand
that they also have jockeyed for
position in the past, and even worse
that nobody has benefited from it

so that sacrifices to youth do not exist
There are only real needs to sacrifice
the wasting ego to, and let's hope
there will be hospitable compassion

Zywa I kissed men

So many lives I've lived
intertwined with what I did
and said to the people
I could touch

I kissed men
without kissing them
I've been abandoned
betrayed and beaten

as if it were real
and in my fantasy I slept
with friends I hugged
every now and then

My life is more
I am more
sympathy than blood and sweat
but all tears are real

Though powerlessly, I love
the people I look in the eye
through glasses of chance
glasses of words

or a camera, and
I love my neighbours
though it is routine
and falling short

Zywa Feel what I feel

Under the vine, I dance
with my swan arm one by one
the grapes above our heads
gracefully to your longing mouth
in my lap
Do you feel what I feel?

Or does your desire look too far
ahead and is it worried
whether it will stay that way?
I don't know, I don't know
We shall see, you are with me
Do you feel what I feel?

The smile in your eyes
sucks me in your heart
that's nice, we kiss
the light of heaven
and the goodness of the earth
Do I feel what you feel?

I feel love, and it makes us
beautiful, it makes beautiful
what we do, do not doubt
     Feel what I feel
then I will feel what you feel

Zywa The Way

An enlightened one doesn't eat alone
One plus one is more than two
Being together is seeing before you
the most beautiful gate one can imagine
the gate to a life you want to lead

Get up and go in
Every day anew
when you wake up
from your dream of a life
that really matters

An enlightened one drinks
water plus water is water
What happens, happens
seen or unseen
without loss or profit

We suffer what happens
working to end pity
working and wishing
for the well-being
of people

Zywa Expathy

Under the dust of the boots
and the wagons of the troops:
the woodlice

moaning, bruised and maimed
by the weight on their peace
The war appeared out of the sky

bombed women and children
destroyed the houses and even the roads
You watch it online

not dressed yet
knowing it is real
and you put the coffee away

to let yourself go
in a few tears of impotence
and practical objections

It's too much trouble
to get into action here
and now in your time off

If you close your eyes
you feel the distance
and you are finished
